baking for biodiversity: a tiny book about grainsThis zine contains information, reflections, a baker's manifesto, and recipes. It is the result of three months in residency at the Sitka Center for Arts and Ecology at the Oregon Coast. I created this zine not to be a comprehensive or exhaustive resource, but to be one part of my small contribution to the tapestry being woven into a whole grain baking revolution.

How Do We Make a New Economy?Product of research residency at Practice Space Design Studio in Cambridge, MA, Fall 2018
Practice Space is a women-and-artist-run community design studio and retail storefront in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Through historical and contemporary research, workshops, conversations, and visiting artists, we asked: how can we create a new community economy? What could it mean to put people and planet before profit? The project culminated in the creation of a small book to serve as a resource for those hoping to learn more about the various movements working towards the common goal of a more equitable economy. It Starts with a SeedCompanion zine to Masters Thesis, Harvard Graduate School of Design
Recipient of the Urban Planning and Design Thesis Prize The stories presented here were collected in January 2019 in the San Francisco Bay Area while undergoing field research for my master’s thesis on community seed saving, and how it exemplifies place-based socio-ecological care, and alternative economies. These stories illuminate the profoundly special relationships humans hold with seeds and highlight how seed saving and sharing—within and across place-based communities—can stoke transformative imaginations, spur collective action, and nurture hope for dealing with the multiple crises and injustices perpetuated by the industrial food system. Cooking UtopiaFinal Project for Reconfiguring Paradise: Utopian Dreams at the Edge of Social Possibility, Harvard Divinity School, Spring 2019
This project explores the intersection of cooking and utopian visioning through an anthology of texts and original writings that evoke the dialogue between recipes and various diverse ideas of utopia. The collection of recipes built on the labor and care of the writers, chefs, friends, changemakers and vision-seekers I see as helping articulate and reconfigure our dreams of utopia.
